1. Automotive Industry Applications

In areas near the engine compartment or within high-temperature zones of an automobile, TPE must exhibit robust resistance to thermal aging. Components such as door seals, engine wiring harness sheathing, and flexible brake line covers frequently utilize TPV-based TPEs. Even after prolonged exposure to temperatures of 120°C, these types of TPEs maintain their elasticity and dimensional stability.

 

2. Kitchenware and Household Goods

TPE used for pot handles and as overmolding for kitchen utensils must withstand brief periods of intense heat when exposed to nearby heat sources. For such applications, SEBS-modified compounds or TPU-based TPEs are typically selected to ensure that the material does not melt, soften, or deform during use.

 

3. Electrical Accessories and Charger Overmolding

Components such as power cords, USB connectors, and dust caps for plugs must withstand localized temperature increases resulting from heat generated by the device itself. While standard TPEs can satisfy operational requirements within the 65°C to 85°C range, products requiring higher safety ratings necessitate the use of thermally stabilized formulations.
